Sandie Maxa is a founding partner in Q Collective.

A graphic designer with an extensive background in typography and systems design, Sandie worked with Fortune 500 clients at advertising and corporate communications agencies in Minneapolis for seven years before forming Q Collective. Work at Q Collective has included projects ranging from catalogs and books to identities and web sites. Sandie’s interest in hands-on printing techniques, color theory and illustration bring a detailed approach to big-idea projects that provoke, inspire and inform.

Sandie graduated from Virginia Commonwealth University with a master’s degree in visual communication and from the University of Wisconsin – Madison with a bachelor’s degree in art/graphic design. Sandie has taught visual studies, typography and publication design at Rutgers University in New Jersey and book design at Parsons in New York.

In her spare time Sandie has served as a panelist for the Queens Council on the Arts and helps other non-profit organizations advance their causes. She also enjoys the diverse cultural offerings of the Big Apple and likes to whack tennis balls.
